RELEASE The Bakken Museum hosting hear-themed collections event

February event will explore art and technology that heal our hearts

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – On Thursday, February 17, from 6 to 9 p.m., The Bakken Museum will host From the Vault: Hearts. This collections-focused event will explore the legacy of healing hearts through innovation, compassion, and vulnerability.

Programming includes:

  • See artifacts usually stored deep in the museum’s vault. The Bakken Museum’s lead curator, Adrian Fischer, will share the history of these items and answer questions.

  • Got something weighing on your heart? Release it to a colorful community art project.

  • Answer trivia for a chance to win prizes.

  • Take it slow with meditation and wellness tips from the University of Minnesota Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality and Healing.

  • Have the electrical signals in your heart turned into a work of art using an electrocardiogram (EKG).

Tickets to From the Vault: Hearts are available for $15, $12 for members of The Bakken Museum. Tickets include access to the museum’s exhibits. Alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks will be available for purchase. Must be 18 years of age or older to attend.

The Bakken Museum is located at 3537 Zenith Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN. Free parking is available in the museum’s lot off of Zenith Avenue and on West 36th Street.

All vaccine-eligible guests must provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours in order to attend this event. Masks are required inside of the museum regardless of vaccination status.
