The Bakken Museum inspires a passion for innovation by exploring the potential for science, technology, and the humanities to make the world a better place.
The Bakken Museum is an acclaimed metropolitan Museum, perched on the shores of Lake Calhoun, in the heart of Minneapolis’ renowned Chain of Lakes region.
Steeped in turn of the century ambiance, surrounded by meticulously kept gardens, and boasting an array of carefully curated exhibits, our distinct event spaces are the ideal venue for your next personal or corporate function. From intimate, garden-side weddings, to corporate meetings, employee retreats, and social functions, The Bakken stands uniquely poised to make any event, big or small, a truly outstanding occasion.
Historical ambiance reigns supreme in the beautiful West Winds Mansion. Built in 1929 by William Goodfellow, West Winds was home to the first incarnation of what is now The Bakken Museum, and can be utilized in four distinct fashions, depending on the parameters of your event.
West Winds is the ideal setting for corporate functions such as team building, workshops, meetings, receptions, luncheons, and awards dinners. It is also the perfect backdrop for personal events such as weddings, anniversary and retirement celebrations.
