Outreach Workshops

The Bakken Museum´s experienced science educators are available to bring outreach workshops designed to teach audiences in a way that is entertaining and fun to any classroom.  Outreach workshops accommodate groups of up to 60 students.  The Bakken Museum offers discounted prices for multiple outreach workshops and/or outreach science theater performances on the same day.

Static Electricity Workshops (Grades 1-8)

A Bakken instructor will lead your students through a number of experiments that will allow them to experience static electricity first hand. Students will lean how to create static electricity and use it to make their hair stand up, confetti dance and sparks fly. They will discover the difference between insulators and conductors and how they are used in static electricity experiments. All students receive a kit with a static electricity generator and experiments to try at home. (1 hour or 30 minute workshop)
