Full-Year The Bakken Museum seeks an experienced teacher to join the education staff
as The 2006-07 Teacher in Residence will work in collaboration with Bakken and district staff to implement a new grant from the Bush Foundation to improve and expand The Bakken’s School Partnership program with the Minneapolis Public Schools. Participating schools will be K-5 or K-8 and have at least 70% students of color and 50% students of poverty. Specific duties of the Teacher in Residence will include working with district staff to increase alignment of the Bakken program with district science curriculum, evaluate the impact of the program on students and teachers, and develop the program’s effectiveness at serving students from groups traditionally underrepresented and underserved in science: students of color, students of poverty and girls. The Teacher in Residence will also have the opportunity to work directly with Minneapolis teachers and students through the School Partnership program.
