Lightning Detector
The Bakken maintains its own Lightning Detector system from April to November for the area surrounding Minneapolis thanks to John Laxson. The system senses lightning strikes, both cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-ground, up to 300 miles away and displays strike data on a map.
