Bakken Programs for Girl Scouts

The Bakken is pleased to continue our collaboration with Girl Scouts to educate and excite girls about science. For specific information check your program guide via Girl Scout Council of Greater Minneapolis, Girl Scouts of MN and WI River Valleysand the Girl Scout Council of St. Croix Valley.

Badge Days at The Bakken
This event supports the new Minneapolis Council Our Own Badge and is only open to members of the Minneapolis Council. Registration must be done through the Minneapolis Council website.

I’m Electric! Junior Girl Scout Badge
Discover electricity in the human body with hands-on activities, special presentations, and the chance to meet women in bioelectricity careers.

Electricity Party Try It! Brownie Badge
Explore exhibit stations and have fun discovering electricity with your friends just like Ben Franklin did 250 years ago!

Wizard Workshops
Evening and Saturday hands-on workshops (Abracadabra, Intro to Magnets, & Sparks and Shocks) and exhibit visits for third-grade Brownies and Junior Girl Scout Troops.

Family Science Saturdays
Daisy through Senior Girl Scouts and their troop leaders and favorite adults can explore a different theme each quarter with hands-on science activities and more. Girl Scout Program Links Sheets are available for activities associated with each quarterly theme.

Inventor's Club
Girl Scouts ages 9-18 can design and create their own project in this 6-week program, offered in fall, winter and spring sessions.  

Bakken Summer Camp
Girls will enjoy in-depth inquiry and discovery at these co-ed or all-girls day camps.
