of The Bakken's Exhibits
• Learn about Earl Bakken and his invention of the first battery-operated pacemaker. • Feel what it is like to be a wire and have electricity travel through their bodies. • Create and see over 30,000 volts of electricity travel through air. • Visit our Electrarium, see electric eels and other electric fish, hear their electricity, and learn why they use it. • See 300 years of electric and magnetic medical devices and learn how electricity and magnetism have been used in medicine. • Join the spirit of Benjamin Franklin in the static electricity party room while playing with 200-year-old static toys. • Engage in a hands-on experiments. • Learn how they are part of science by making connections
between artifacts, stories, experiments, scientists and inventors.
