Field Trips at The Bakken - Where Students Get Charged Up About Science
Broadcast Workshops
at the
Pavek Museum of Broadcasting

This option combines a Bakken workshop or exhibit tour with a trip to the Pavek Museum of Broadcasting. This option requires the students to travel between The Bakken and the Pavek (about a 10 minute bus ride). At the Pavek, students participate in a 75 minute workshop in one of the few places in the world where students can work and play while surrounded by examples of the history of electronic communication. In this workshop the students will:

• Learn about the history of electronic communication.

• Gain a historical perspective on how electronic communication technology has developed and influenced their lives.

• See historically significant apparatus, material and documents relating to the development of electronic communications.

• Produce a 1960’s style radio broadcast.

• Reinforce what they have learned by participating in a live television quiz show.

Please visit the Pavek Museum’s webiste, www.pavekmuseum.org, for more information.
