High-Voltage Capacitors
While The Bakken does have high-voltage capacitors that are not Leyden Jars, most of them are incorporated into Ruhmkorff Coils. There, they are approaching the modern idea of the capacitor: sheets of foil separated by sheets of glass, mica, or other insulator. We have them, and they can be studied, but it involves opening up coil bases and studying the internal parts. They aren't really very photogenic. |
