Similar charges repel, so when we are electrified, our hair will stand on end. Most of us have experienced that in a science class, usually with a Van de Graaff generator. For those who'd rather not be electrified themselves, this small wooden head demonstrates the phenomenon. It doesn't appear to have aged gracefully - the hair is all tangled up, and rather sparse. It probably looked better when it was young.
