Driving Directions to The Bakken The Bakken is at 3537 Zenith Avenue South in Minneapolis, overlooking Lake Calhoun, located between Zenith Avenue and West Calhoun Parkway on 36th Street. Directions from Interstate 35W From Interstate 35W going north or south, exit at 35th Street. Turn on 35th Street, which is one-way, and follow 35th Street till you get to Nicollet or Blaisdell Avenue; turn left, go one block and turn right. You’re now on 36th Street, heading west. Follow this street until you are stopped by a T intersection at Lake Calhoun. If you could fly straight over Lake Calhoun, you’d find the Bakken at 36th Street on the other side of the lake. Since you won’t be flying, turn left at the stoplight, and follow Calhoun Parkway around the south end of the lake to the opposite side. You’ll need to turn right at a stoplight at the south part of the lake in order to stay on Calhoun Parkway. Turn left onto 36th Street. Our main entrance faces that street. You may park along 36th Street, along Zenith Avenue, or turn right on Zenith Avenue to get to the entrance to our small parking lot. Directions from the western suburbs From the western suburbs, follow Excelsior, Wayzata, or Minnetonka Boulevard (Hwy. 3, 5, or 7) east into Minneapolis, and merge toward the right as these streets join with West Lake Street near Lake Calhoun. After these streets join, before you pass Lake Calhoun, you will want to turn right at the stoplight onto West Calhoun Parkway. Follow the parkway south along the west side of the lake. Turn right on 36th Street. Our main entrance faces 36th Street. You may park there, along Zenith Avenue, or turn right onto Zenith Avenue to get to the entrance to our small parking lot. Directions from Interstate 94 From Interstate 94, exit onto southbound Hennepin Avenue. Follow Hennepin until you reach Lagoon Avenue. Turn right onto Lagoon; follow it as it joins with Lake Street at the northern edge of Lake Calhoun. Turn left at the stoplight just past the Calhoun Beach Club, onto West Calhoun Parkway. Follow the parkway south along the west side of the lake. Turn right onto 36th Street. Our main entrance faces 36th Street. You may park there, along Zenith Avenue, or you may turn right onto Zenith Avenue to get to the entrance to our small parking lot. |
